At 35 years old I found myself heavily depressed, obese and so much in debt that bankruptcy seemed like the only option to come out of it.
However, I didn’t want to destroy the life of my then 7-year-old son.
I knew he deserved a better life than I ever had, so decided to get my shit together.
But things don’t always go to plan…
I came to live and work in the UK at age 21, barely speaking English. I left my past toxic environment behind to start a new life.
Initially, I was working in health and social care as a support worker in a residential home for adults with learning disabilities, Autism, and behaviours that challenge. I was very passionate about helping others achieve their potential and independence, and quickly realised I was unable to fulfil my aspirations in the role I was doing.
I started investing in my education and training to enable myself to climb the career ladder, and within a few years, I became a Registered Manager.
In 2012 I fell pregnant and became a single mother. I was not prepared for motherhood.
Working full time and not having a circle of support became very stressful and unmanageable. My body, career, finances and mental health suffered from that point onwards.
Within next few years I fell into heavy depression, became obese and got myself into £40,000 debt.
In January 2019, I started my journey of self-discovery and transformation.
Within 3 years, thanks to setting small goals, I managed to come out of depression, lose 28 kg of weight and pay off all my debts! I wrote 3 books in that time and managed to further my career!
It made me realise; everything is possible. We are capable of much more than we realise. We just need to know what we want to achieve, have a plan how to get there and work everyday towards reaching that destination. Some days, we will make less progress than others, sometimes, we will hit roadblocks. But as long as we never give up and continue moving upwards – we will end up Reaching the Star!
In February 2022, at the age of 37, I got diagnosed with ADHD and am currently awaiting my Autism assessment. The diagnosis helped me understand myself, where for many years I felt misunderstood.
ADHD explains how my brain works, it explains why I struggled my entire life and why I got myself into difficulties in the first place. For 37 years I was forcing myself to fit into a neurotypical world, whilst having a neurodiverse brain. Learning about myself and understanding who I am, opened my world to new opportunities.
Today, I help other people on their transformation journeys!
Together, we can create a plan on how to get you to the destination you truly deserve. I will be here to guide and motivate you every step of the way!
